Keith Alexander
Keith Alexander is a London based, Black American multidisciplinary artist scholar from Chesapeake, Virginia. An alumnus of Morehouse College, he began his dance training in Atlanta, Georgia through cross-registration with Spelman College’s Dance department. His academic and creative formation in “the cradle of the Civil Rights Movement” has influenced his artistic direction as he creates thought-provoking, social conscious art to heal and help transform the world. He is the 2022-2023 US-UK Fulbright Scholar at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance. Alexander's creative accomplishments include a documentary dance short film, selected for the 2023 London International Screen Dance Festival, and international projects as a choreographer, writer, and performer. Alexander is committed to courageous storytelling and advocating for marginalized and displaced communities across the world through the arts.

Film: Don't I Belong
selected for the 2023 London International Screen Dance Festival, Don’t I Belong makes it’s UK debut.
Don’t I Belong is a documentary dance short film that explores the impact of black male identity on belonging in the UK.
This film was created with support from the US-UK Fulbright Commission, 100 Black Men of London, and Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance.

Performance: Mangy Waters
new work in progress, Mangy Waters is selected for inclusion in Saint-Louis, Senegal dance festival, Duo Solo Danse.
Mangy Waters is a new dance theatre work conceptualized at L’Ecole des Sables in Senegal.
Inspired by Koleka Putuma’s Water and The Fire Next Time by James Baldwin, this work explores themes of life, death, ritual, and cleansing through the lens of baptism to bring visibility to the internal and external beginnings of violence within urban environments.

Graphic Art: New Commissions
commissioned to create graphic art for Komansé Dance Theater in collaboration with Okorie Johnson for their 2023 performance at the Tech Bridge Gala in Atlanta, Georgia (US).
These works are a response to Okorie Johnson’s Liminal and choreography by Raianna Brown. The pieces created explore visual textures, depth, connection, repetition, and touch.

writer for and performer in David Blake’s (Blake Arts) Melanin Migration: The Journey.
Three poetic pieces were created and delivered in this performance. The works explore themes of blackness, migration, masculinity, and community.
The Journey premiered in Leicester, UK at the Curve Theatre for Let’s Dance International Frontiers, an international dance festival programming works from practitioners of the African and African Caribbean Diaspora.
